Spice Spectacular Curated by Kiss The Brain and Laina Joy

During the first weekend in December, 20 local artists presented work made from ACTUAL spices at On Tour Brewing. Ten more makers joined us to round out the collection w/locally made giftables. We also offered an opportunity for visitors to bid on uniquely made spice racks to support Nourishing Hope.

“A rainbow full of sound.”

During the weekend of Dec 10-12, 2021, twenty artists and 5 musicians came together to exhibit and perform. We celebrated the intersection where music + colours meet. Eight of these artists were kind enough to volunteer their talents to create unique pieces for an auction from which all proceeds went to 8 local non-profits. All together, over $1800 was donated. Each day of this pop-up was celebrated with live painting + live music.

Kiss The Brain’s first pop-up gallery was held September 3-September 19, 2021 at 1821 W Chicago Ave, as part of the West-Town Pop-Up Project. Fourteen local artists came together to exhibit their work.

This collection of work focused on the relationship between nature and human innovation. Artists explored their own interpretations of the relationship and the audience was encouraged to behold the beauty within a natural world and a manufactured one, while examining thresholds.
In a world so determined to be digitally and industrially defined, how do we connect with and preserve nature’s gifts?
